Update: it’s a £520,000 fine plus £800 penalties for 60 days. Ofcom has not validly domesticated this fine in the United States, ergo, it is null and void as far as my American client is concerned.
Ofcom, of course, sent this by e-mail, which is also not valid service in the USA, and as such no one is obliged – or even authorized – to assist in these orders’ enforcement here, a fairly obvious and elementary legal point 4chan made in its D.D.C. lawsuit against Ofcom, but which Ofcom has refused to concede, preferring to run for the cover of sovereign immunity instead.
Their communication and our reply:
I will post the provisional decision documents here once I’m done reviewing them and making any appropriate redactions. In the meantime, they have been supplied in full to U.S. federal government agencies and elected representatives in Wyoming, New Hampshire, and Delaware.
